A Place For Everyone

Hi and welcome to First Baptist Church of Elba.

We hope that our page will be helpful in providing you with a general overview of who we are and what God is doing through FBC Elba. However, a website is no substitute for the real thing! We would love to meet you! We are always an email, Facebook message, or phone call away. Or if you are in the area, stop by. You are always welcome during any of our service times or during weekly business hours. Come as you are. We hope to see you soon!

The cornerstone to our belief.

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. From it we know that God exists in three persons God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe an eternal relationship with God is available to those who call on Jesus as Lord and Savior because of his atoning sacrifice and glorious resurrection. We believe the process is initiated by the Holy Spirit who after drawing us to God resides within us ministering to and equipping us for God’s Glory until Christ returns or calls us home. Reference the Baptist Faith and Message link provided for a more detailed explanation of our beliefs.

Our Mission

We exist to glorify God by Meeting for worship, Maturing in our faith, and Making disciples.

Meet

God’s word instructs believers “not to neglect meeting together.” According to the Bible, meeting regularly enables us to worship corporately and encourages us to continue maturing in our faith. (Heb. 10:24-25, 1 Thess. 5:11)

Mature

Once saved, Christians begin the sanctification process. We are to be ever maturing in our faith. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth as we draw near to God through prayer and Bible Study. (Eph. 4:13-15, 2 Tim. 3:16-17)

Make

As Believers become disciples of Christ, they are to make disciples by sharing Christ with all and training in righteousness. The lost depend on our faithfulness; God desires to use us for His glory in our families, communities, and world. Each is called to various services, but we are all commanded to share the Gospel in word and deed. (Matthew 28:18-19, Matt. 9:35-38, Rom. 10:13-14)
