Healing The World Through Outreach

Motivated by our love for God and others, FBC Elba desires to be a church that makes every effort to fulfill the Great Commission by communicating the Gospel in word and deed locally and until the ends of the Earth.  We meet countless spiritual and physical needs in our community through outreach projects and offering financial assistance with bills.  We partner with our local FCA coordinator and Fathers in the Field missionary.  Additionally, we support missionaries in both Hungary and Belize.  FBC Elba has sent two teams on short-term mission trips through our partnership with “A Better Belize.”

Food Bank

As part of our local mission’s service opportunities, the Food Bank is a loving ministry of Elba citizens in conjunction with several churches to include FBC. Its goal is to serve those experiencing financial hardships by meeting food needs each Thursday 9 -11:00 (among other special scheduled pickup/delivery times) at the Church of Christ.

The Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU)

WMU exists to help our church be aware of missions and promote the Great Commission. Our goal is to focus on prayer and fundraising for missionaries. The team takes lead of annual impact opportunities such as the Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, and Myers-Mallory State Mission offerings. Other projects in which oversite, if provided, are local missions and Operation Christmas Child. It is always their mission to educate and involve every church member in each WMU project.

Serving Sundays

As needs arise, FBC Elba volunteers gather on Sunday afternoons at a predetermined time to serve a different congregational or community member.  We do not want to be a church that points out needs without striving to meet each one.  All volunteers are welcome; tasks include everything from lawn service to house chores. The important thing is that those in need know they are loved by God and the FBC family.
